Al Hussein Fellowship Program (HFP)

Al Hussein Fellowship Program (HFP) was launched in 2020 to cultivate a mindset of service-based leadership among youth in Jordan and establish a national network of young leaders who are actively engaged in politics, economics and social development

HFP is the flagship of the Crown Prince Foundation’s (CPF) programs under the Leadership Pathway, guiding youth to develop their capabilities, discipline, and strategic foresight. HFP fosters a sense of connectedness and accountability and encourages a growth mindset to create a rooted yet progressive nucleus of change.

HFP is focused on the “serve to lead” concept and is designed to create experiences that address prevalent limitations in youth’s thinking and practices and break the cycle of personal challenges. The Program instills the values of the service-based leader profile which include respect, inclusivity, empathy, courage, integrity and loyalty.

HFP annually selects its participants from across Jordan through a competitive and rigorous process based on the Program’s criteria and standards. Furthermore, HFP strives to bridge the gap between Jordan’s cities and the outskirts, between one generation of thinkers and the next, linking local community development to the larger Jordanian context and the globe.

The Program has a duration of one full year, during which participants are equipped with the skills and tools needed to become effective future leaders in the public, private or civil sectors. HFP utilizes learning, internships, mentoring, volunteering and communication, as well as activities and tasks that expose participants to new experiences, to enrich their skills and provide them with the basics of teamwork, social intelligence, and relationship building.
